Grenville, Raleigh & Frobisher Court, Ealing

Location

Occupying a prominent position fronting Cleveland Road within the renowned Cleveland Estate. Bounded by Cleveland Road to the south, Kent Avenue to the west, Kent Gardens to the east and Scotch Common to the north. Cleveland Park lies immediately to the west of Kent Avenue and the estate lies approximately 1 mile to the northwest of Ealing Broadway. Frobisher Court is approached via Templewood, a turning off Cleveland Road, and the Dene, a turning left into the southwest corner of the estate.

First Great Western Service at Ealing Broadway Station provides fast (10 minutes) access to Paddington and Heathrow Connect provides a frequent 20-minute service to Heathrow. Access to the West End (30 minutes) and the City (40 minutes) via the Central Line underground and Earls Court, Victoria, etc via the District Line.

Ealing Broadway Station is due to be redesigned to accommodate the new Cross Rail Service from Essex/Kent via the City, West End and Paddington to Heathrow and Maidenhead.

History

The Cleveland estate was constructed over several years in stages from 1965 to 1971 by renowned international local-based builder Haymills Limited.

The entire site was originally occupied by a large mansion and grounds which subsequently became allotments after 1945.

Description

Three fine buildings of pleasing brick design with seventy-eight apartments overall arranged on four floors. The original windows are of secondary glazing design, the main entrances, stairways and landings are of generous proportions and security is provided by the installation of the entry phone system.

Grenville, Raleigh and Frobisher Courts adjoin Kent Avenue and are set amongst landscaped grounds, mature trees and lawns. All apartments benefit from the ownership of a lock-up garage or a car parking space.

Tenure

The resident’s management company, “Kent Avenue (Ealing) Limited”, was established to run the estate and the freehold interest was purchased by the residents in 1991. New leases were granted for a term of 100 years from 29 September 2000.
