Stop & Shop parking in Ealing Borough saved, for now

Last month, we have published an article about the Stop & Shop parking which Ealing Council proposed to implement in the near future.

This proposal would not only prevent non-residents from using the Stop & Shop bays free of charge but would also threaten the local businesses. All residents of the borough would have to pre-register their vehicles with the Council and use their mobile phones to park in the bays.

In our recent newsletter, to which you can subscribe here, we asked our subscribers to support our local streets and sign the petition against this proposal.

In the recent update by David Millican, Conservative Councillor for Ealing, he confirmed that Ealing Council has now put their Stop & Shop parking plans on hold pending a review.

This is due to the superb effort by so many businesses across the borough who helped spread the message out very quickly and also residents who didn’t hesitate to sign a petition against plans.

We are really pleased with the news and are grateful to residents in the borough who together supported their high streets.

We have to remember that these plans won’t take place for now, however they are on hold. We will keep everyone updated about the review when we have further information.
