Location
Occupying a secluded and tranquil position at the east side of the renowned Cleveland Estate, "Gleneagles" and "Sunningdale", named after the famous Scottish and Surrey golf courses, are approached via Malvern Way, a small cul de sac to the east side of Templewood.
Originally the site of a large mansion and grounds, the Cleveland estate is bounded by Cleveland Road to the south, Kent Gardens to the east, Kent Avenue to the west and Scotch Common to the north.
The First Great Western service at Ealing Broadway Station provides fast (10 minutes) access to Paddington and Heathrow Connect provides a frequent 20 minute service to Heathrow. Access to the West End (30 minutes) and the City (40 minutes) is via the Central Line underground and Earls Court, Victoria etc via the District Line.
Ealing Broadway Station is due to be redesigned to accommodate the new Crossrail service from Essex/Kent via the City, West End and Paddington to Heathrow and Maidenhead.
History
The Cleveland estate was constructed in stages over several years from 1965 to 1971 by renowned international local based builder, Haymills Limited.
The entire site was originally occupied by a large mansion and grounds which subsequently became allotments after 1945.
Description
The buildings are of pleasing brick design with the majority of flats benefiting from west facing balconies. Twenty-two apartments are arranged over four floors in both blocks. The main entrances and staircases are of generous proportions and security is provided by the installation of an entry phone system.
Gleneagles and Sunningdale are set amongst mature landscaped grounds, with mature trees, shrubs and lawn to the front and sides of the building. There are two main entrances into the west-facing building.
All flats have the facility of either a lock-up garage or car parking space.
Tenure
Each apartment is held on a lease for a term of 125 years from 25th June 1964.
Each lessee owns a share in G & S Associates Ltd which holds the freehold interest. The Estate is managed by the residents management company, "Templewood (Ealing) Limited".
